Public / Private photos
With picasa and flickr I have shared some public photos. Not many, but a few, especially with flickr.
So anyone can see them without logging in.
However to view the majority (80%) of my photos you need to log in, to picasa, flickr and especially coppermine.
This is because some photos may be of other people and I do not share them with unknowns without their consent.
With flickr that access is per picture while with picasa and coppermine it is per album.
Registering and logging in is not difficult, however I also need to set you as a friend with that service,
so contact me. (If I know you that is!)
Access
Most of the photos require access. Send me a mail, and ill create a username or an invite where applicable.
Photo tools and recommendations
Online platforms
- Coppermine is great for customization, and unlimited storage as you have to host it yourselves. But is not as slick as the others.
- Flickr has a great community, easy tagging and good sharing tools. But uploading is a pain, and unless you pay for it, it can be restrictive. And the interface for browsing and vieving is not as good as picasa.
- Picasa webalbums builds on the fantastic desktop GUI, great upload tools and is really slick and easy to use online. But not as easy to share as flickr. And I will eventually run out of space with it as well as it is restricted to 1GB.

browsing, viewing, slide showing you photos and videos on your computer.
Importing photos from memory cards, and cameras are now a breeze.
Intuitive avoids importing duplicate photos.
Masses of easy editing tools, eg red eye, cropping etc.
Easy uploading to picasa webalbums.
Online editing
Picnik
Fantastic new web tool which integrates with picasa webalbums, flick and Facebook.
Lets you easily import, edit and save changes back to these sites.
Or upload any photo and save locally.
In addition there a helpful firefox extension for picnik, which lets you grab any photo on the web and automatically import into picnik.
